Meeting with Coimbra Fire Department

The research team participated in a meeting with "Bombeiros Sapadores de Coimbra" (Coimbra Fire Department) in order to retrieve more precise information about the project's test scenarios. The meeting was held on Apr. 26, 2012, in Coimbra Fire Department's facilities.

In the same meeting, the research team could visit their training camp. The possibility of using this kind of facility in the coarse of the project was offered to the research team by Coimbra Fire Department.

Kick-off meeting

The kick-off meeting was on Apr. 2, 2012 at 2:00pm-3:00pm and was held at the meeting room of ISR-Coimbra with the presence of every research team members except Eng. Paulo Palrilha who could not attend.

Project contract signed with FCT

The CHOPIN project's contract was homologated by the Minister of Science and Technology of Portuguese Government on Dec. 7, 2011. The contract was signed by the PI of the project, Prof. Rui P. Rocha, and by the Director of Institute of Systems and Robotics - University of Coimbra, Prof. Traça de Almeida, on Feb. 7, 2012.

The research project will start on Apr. 1, 2012 and will last until Mar. 31, 2015.

The overall budget is 94.840,00€, being co-funded by the European Union's FEDER - "Fundo Europeu de Desenvolvimento Regional" program (80.614,00€) and by the Portuguese Government (14.226,00€).
